Lithia Springs

Between Michael’s full time job and part time side job on a company he is helping start up, it can sometimes be a little hard to find free time to spend together. Add to that my on again off again flares with fibro and you’ve got a challenging situation when it comes to doing more than a movie or dinner.

Thankfully, we got a little break last Saturday and got to go on a picnic lunch at Lithia Springs. We were supposed to have plans with Maw (my grandmother) but Michael got a bad cold and then we had plans with my brother Tim but then Michael ended up needing to study for an upcoming interview. So we found ourselves spending most of the day with me cleaning house and him buried in the books. It was a gorgeous day outside and you can only study and clean for so long without a break so we decided to pack up our PB&J and have a picnic.

I had looked up local parks a long time before and found Lithia Springs Park which was only about 20mins away but we had not had a chance to check it out. So we walked the dogs, threw our stuff in the car and off we went. Twenty minutes later we were driving around the park and exploring where everything was. There’s camping grounds (which we miiiiiiight explore in the future but honestly, I’m not much of a camper), picnic areas, play grounds, and of course the springs. We didn’t have enough time and energy to explore everything but we did do a little walking through the trails by the Alafia river which runs through the park before we ate lunch by the springs.

The whole thing only costs us $2 to drive into the park, 1.5 hours of time and the packed lunch that we would’ve eaten at home anyways. It was a wonderful afternoon together and we really enjoyed spending time just talking and relaxing. We are definitely going back to swim in the springs as soon as it warms up a little bit.

I love spending time with Michael. It may sound a little hallmark-ish but he really is my best friend. We laugh together, we play together, we talk about everything…I really got a huge blessing from God when I got my Michael.
Love you babe!!! <3
