Fitness Journal – restart

I have entitled this post “restart” because that is exactly what I am doing. I am starting a new chapter in my life in many areas due to changes both internal and external so re-vamping my fitness routine makes sense to me. I was doing pretty good with it before but without a real plan and without a partner, it was way too easy to fall off the wagon. So here’s the new plan and how it’s going so far…hopefully I will have lots of faithful updates on progress without all the excuses. 🙂

  • Food – I just wrote a new post (Food, friend or foe?) about how our eating habits have changed. That in and of itself has changed a lot about my body. I have seen improvements in my energy which has allowed me to do a workout without having to sacrifice the rest of my day to the couch.
  • Support – I have a new and un-named buddy in fitness who has promised me to keep me accountable to our workout goals and I have promised the same for him/her. Go team!
  • Workouts – this time we have a plan, at least one type of workout every day from Monday through Friday. This means that even on bad days, there has to be at least a short walk and some stretching. Hopefully that will help establish working out as a new part of our daily routines.

We just started this plan this week and so far I am really excited about it. This morning I saw a number on the scale that I haven’t seen in a looooooong time. It’s finally a whole pound under the plateau that has seemed to be my curse so I’m taking that as a good sign. Also, I was able to do 30 mins on the elliptical machine at the gym without stopping which, for me, is a pretty big deal!

So that’s where I am right now and I hope to be writing about even lower scale numbers and even bigger workout numbers next Friday 🙂

PS – the thumbnail pics will be beach scenes from now on to inspire thoughts of swimsuits and how much more fun the summer would be if I was more in-shape for activities.

  1. As Holly’s “un-named” team member, I have to say I’m sorry for letting you down, and not being the support you need. I am very proud of you,Holly, for haveing a much better “gitter done” than I have shown. I can’t get into the treadmill due to the dresser we had to move out of the bedroom, but there is NO other place for it. I’m really trying hard to sell this thing!!
Again, I am sorry and will work on being more of a support for you.

    Can you forgive me??

    Signed,
