Moving

Oh my goodness, it has been entirely too long since the last post but I have been so busy it’s not even funny.

Over the past 4 weeks we have moved to a different part of town, had strep throat, been infested with fleas, and purchased a new (to us) car. I shouldn’t even be blogging now with all the unpacking and cleaning I still have to do! Hopefully as things settle down, I can catch everyone up and all the details and share pictures of the move and new car.

Our new apartment is in the same general area that we used to be in before we moved to Brandon. We really love this part of town because of the people and all the activity and shopping. I’m not really sure what you would call it because my address says Tampa but it’s technically in New Tampa but so close to Tampa Palms that I have just started calling it that because it gives a better idea as to where we are. Whatever you want to call it, we love it.

I have nothing against Brandon or the people who live and there and love it, it definitely has its perks, but it just wasn’t a very good fit for Michael and me. In the 15 months we lived there, we never met a single neighbor. Apartment living in that area is really temporary I guess because people moved in and out in a continual stream of U-haul trucks so no one really gets that sense of community. Now in the new complex, we had not even gotten all the boxes off the truck before I had met 4 neighbors, been invited into their house to look at paint colors, been helped with a heavy aquarium I was carrying, and the dogs had already made friends with 3 really cute little boys. One neighbor I met has been here for 11 years!!! That is the secret to living in apartments, find a friendly community where it doesn’t feel like you live in a box and the neighbors love and respect each other enough to be considerate of noise levels and privacy.

Well now I have really spent to long on this “little break” and really should get back to work.

More updates with pictures soon!!!
