In the bustling world of Digitaria, Numbers Eleven and Twelve were the oddest of best friends. Eleven was a bit awkward, with two straight lines that made him look like he was always standing too close to someone in line. He loved to tell jokes, though most of them only made him laugh. Twelve, on the other hand, was cool, collected, and always busy because everyone in Digitaria relied on him for everything—dozens, clocks, and even eggs! While Eleven would crack up saying, “Why did Seven eat Nine? Because you’ll never know with me around!” Twelve would just roll his eyes and mutter, “Here we go again.”
One night, Eleven decided to challenge Twelve to a game of “Who’s More Important?” “I’m prime! That means I’m rare and special!” Eleven said, puffing out his chest. But Twelve just grinned, “Well, I’m divisible by just about anything and everyone counts on me—literally.” They both started laughing at how ridiculous the argument was. They knew deep down that even though Eleven was quirky and Twelve was always busy, the world of numbers just wouldn’t be the same without either of them. And with that, they both dozed off, knowing that sometimes, the odd and the even make the perfect pair.
