Fitness Journal – week 3

I think I’m going to change up the way that I add posts to this category. I was updating daily but I don’t like that it kind of spams the front page and every other day still looks like too much so I think I’m gonna go weekly now. This post will cover this past week and from now on I will update on Fridays. Hopefully this will fix the spamming issue and still keep me accountable and help me track my progress or lack of.

This past week, I’m not gonna lie, was not one that I was excited to write about. I have been totally off schedule with sleeping and getting up in the morning because of staying up late watching the Olympics and then because of some vacation time with Michael. He had decided to take a few days between jobs so we could spend some time together (thank you babe!!) and we didn’t do anything huge but we did spend a lot of time staying up late and sleeping in.

Sounds like a lame reason to be a slacker, I know, but when my sleeping schedule is thrown off I really have a harder time with fatigue throughout the day. So I tried to keep up with a good diet and kept up stretching but I was just too pooped to work out.

The good news is that I have not gained any weight back during this time (still about 5lbs down from my starting weight) but the bad news is that it is a little harder to get back into the routine once you’ve fallen off the wagon. But I am determined to climb back up and get back on track.

My goal is not to look like Heidi Klum by summer and run 19 marathons by the end of the year, but I would like to build up my strength and endurance and feel better in my jeans. It’s silly to set yourself up for failure by having an unattainable goal so I really just want to get to a place where I feel confident about my body whether that is 5, 10, or 20 pounds from now.

It’s a beautiful day outside so I will be getting back on my bike today and hopefully by next Friday I will have a report to be proud of. Sore legs, here I come!!
